Attorneys for Kansas

The firm was first organized in 1945 by Kenneth G. Speir, Vernon A. Stroberg and Herbert H. Sizemore as Speir, Stroberg & Sizemore above the old JC Penny on Main Street in Newton Kansas.

Throughout the years, other attorneys worked for the firm, including Melvin Gradert, now a retired District Court Judge; John Thomas Reid, who became a Federal Magistrate; and Richard Hrdlicka, who left to assume the role of General Counsel for Hesston Corporation and ultimately for Fiat America in NYC.

From 1968 to 1976, associates Michael Sizemore, A. James Gillmore and David Burns were hired and went on to become partners, eventually taking over the practice.

In 1993, the firm moved offices into what is now the Historic Train Station, where we remain today.

Since then, Gillmore, and his new partner Matt Wilson, have run the practice as the freshly named firm Gillmore and Wilson, LLC.

For the last 75 years we have, under a number of names, been providing quality legal services for Newton, KS and the surrounding area, and hope to continue to provide that same service for the years to come.
